Operator name not shown on Fido JACK i616

Hello, I couldn't get my jack (Canadian Version of blackjack II) to show the operator name (fido) on the home screen.

When I checked Under Setting > phone > network > current network

The field is blank, yet I have manually connect to Fido.

Does anyone know I can fix this issue?

What does it really matter?

Well, because for us up north, data roaming in US is very expensive.

That's why I need a way to make sure I am on my own network.
