Guest Doublevision Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 GTD - idea/looking for software to convert email straight to task Either an idea for a development or if anyone knows of any software, that of course would be great!? Getting Things Done is a method of planning short, medium and long term tasks/goals into a more powerful task list (for a detailed explanation, see GTD - Wikipedia One of the ideas is because things are in task lists, your email inbox does not become a task list so you can delete/hide emails. What I would really like is an add-on/menu to Pocket Outlook that creates a Pocket task directly from the email, copying the date, title, and text body, senders/receipents and other information. This would make keeping the inbox as empty as possible easy. I wonder if this can even be made to integrate with nested Tasks by Chucky Egg to make it very powerful - will add link to this in that topic. http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/266440/chucky-eggs-nested-tasks/ Thanks for any help, ideas or someone willing to develop (i just wish I had the skills!)
Guest jackofall Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 PocketBreeze lists this as a feature of the messages tab I haven't tried it though. http://www.sbsh.net/product.php?id=20 Messages TabView email accounts inbox folder, SMS and MMS message titles Preview emails using a popup preview window Mark items as read/unread Generate tasks from email items for "Follow up" or "Reply" Create new emails using the context menu by clicking any account titleNot sure if that would be overkill though as you would have to deal will all your email in PB as opposed to in pocket outlook. Not sure if any of the other PIM replacements support this either?
Guest chucky.egg Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 Dale Lane made a Pocket Outlook menu option to do this, called IcontextMenu dalelane.co.uk/blog/ Anything that interacts directly with Tasks in Pocket Outlook will interact with Nested Tasks - Nested Tasks is just a different view of the built in Tasks
