Guest kingbing Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I'd like to see a work mobile number added to contacts. I've got many friends who have both a personal mobile and a work mobile. I want to be able to SMS either mobile, as they tend to use just one or the other depending on the time of day. So, the wish is in 2 parts: 1) Add a work mobile number 2) Add the ability to send an SMS to more than one number in a contact
Guest shadieb Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Couldn't you just add it to the work2 number, or in the comments section?
Guest humz Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 If you do that you cant send sms messages to it.
Guest HelloDave Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I read in another thread if you add the second number to an e-mail field you can send SMS's to it, I think, but don't quote me on it! ;)
Guest kingbing Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Yep, you can just add it as an email address! Just had a brain wave and did that, and it worked, and got all excited, and logged on to tell everyone, and someone had already worked it out. Doh! Anyway, it's still not ideal. I don't know what it shows when receiving a text message to this number, or how replying works, but it's also a pain to select the right number when sending a message - instead of listing "Work Number", "Mobile Number", "Email2", etc. It just shows the number. It's a work around for now, though...
Guest SirGaz Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 It also works in the Carphone number as well.
Guest kingbing Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 No, that doesn't work for me. If I put the number in car phone, then I don't get it in the list when selecting what to use - email, mobile, etc.
Guest SirGaz Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 You absolutely right  Although it does work for incoming calls and sms messages, you can't select it as an outgoing number from within the sms composser.
