Just got my omnia back from repairs (long and annoying story) and I have XXHG5

Wanted to know if this was samsung uk's latest software so I phoned up and they confirmed this... and interestingly they told me that they are expecting a new home update to be released soon!

I was very happy to hear this, mainly cos i'm too scared to flash it.

If you guys already know this im sorry to bore you, but i thought i'd post it anyway.

My problem is that i got mine foirm over seas and cant wait to get my hands on the Aus Rom so i can use the dam thign properly lol

Im new here and hoping to get some help from you guys.

I recently got a new i900 and looking to see if there is a firmware upgrade for it or if I can try one of the new firmwares from other region.

My versions are:

PDA: i900JVHI1/JVHI1

Phone: i900JVHH4

I would like a new firmware that will improve specifically on battery life.

All suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hey everyone! I just got my Omnia and I love it. I haven't fully cycled the battery yet, so I imagine between today and tomorrow it'll be up to par. Anyways, I have this:

i900XJHH1/BAHH2

phone: i900BUHG5.

I'd like to know if this firmware has a good battery life? That's usually my biggest concern! I use my phone A LOT and I need the battery to last as much as possible with email checking frequently, calls, and IMing. Can anyone confirm if HH1 is any good (but for real good :lol:) haha.

have yopu rebooted the phone while the program is running and it's connected to the computer? this is what kicks off the program to recognise that it's connected.

Thanks Alex, that worked out. Even though at the end I had port error, but it eventually upgraded the firmware. Cheers!

when i install hi3 or hj1, it works perfect. but when i make a hard reset after installation, phone becomes slower and screen becomes less sensitive.. what do you think about this?

Hi all. Just put on the DTHJ5 from the DXHJ1 but have to say the battery life on the new rom is considerably worse. Charged the battery to full and have done nothing on the phone and the battery in 30mins has already gone down to 80% whereas on the DXHJ1, I was solid, except that the screen blacked and i had to reset it a good number of times each day.

If i were to go back to a previous rom, can i just use the same procedure as I did putting these new roms on, (used the upgrade program and follow the instructions) or do i need to do some sort of downgrading with another program before running the DXHJ1 or whichever, rom program.

hehe.. just an update. so.. i figured out my phone was from singapore (that area or so). and went to do the official downloads. i got the i900DZHH3 from the samsung site. has anyone tried this?

DZHH3 has china input thing it's an english rom worked well but you should get DT from first page works well.

DZHH3 has china input thing it's an english rom worked well but you should get DT from first page works well.

ah okay. i'll give that a whirl. shouldn't be too bad to upgrade it. it reminds me of the htc tytn.. when i do the firmware upgrades for that phone. i gotta find some windows 6.1 software though.

Was wondering, does the XP machine need to be connected to the internet when the phone is being updated? Just trying to minimise the risk of bricking my new phone :S

At http://www.samsung.com/at/microsite/omniaupgrade/index.html you can officially download the german (Austrian) i900AUHJ2

But it does not directly work for other (german) phones - the incorrect software version thing.

I´m not sure whats better, to hack the update-file or change the phone by the code.
