ROM download links, naming scheme + 'Incorrect Software Version' fix

Hi Nagyv (Peter??),

I've just successfully updated my Italian Omnia with an English ROM- Many many thanks to Paul & blowing big kisses :rolleyes: !!

I had tried the official ones too but they didn't work. What worked for me in the end was:

Do the *#1546792*# change to with default network

Then download and run the below updater (other versions did not work for me)

DTHJ5 (full update, tested OK, latest English): http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zhnm1jzgmnf

The updater did all the work by itself, and after the reboot, Voila! all was in English- beautiful!!

Oh the pain I had with this phone and its Italian everything!

when i put in *#1546792*# nothing happens at all - any ideas? I press the dial button to get up the keypad and put in the number including the stars and hashes but it sits there staring at me i dont get any menu. I have put a code in before to see battery power but this one plain doesnt work for me any ideas???.

hey guys! first of all, i would love to thank the creators of this wonderful site and also all the friendly ppl that frequent it!!!! ive recently purchased a new samsung omnia and im in love with it!!!!

newaiz, ive been reading about this forum regarding ROMs..... and my question is... which ROM do i need to update for my fone? ive search this entire thread and i havent really concluded an answer thus far.... just to keep in mind, i got my phone from Optus in australia and i would like an english ROM.

on a side note, im planning to use the "Throttlelauncher - version 0.9.5" UI..... will this also affect what type of ROM i should upgrade my omnia with??? also, id like to add that im a little disappointed with the battery life, but from what ive read, updating the ROM should fix this problem??

Hello Paul,

First of all, thank you so much for this wonderful website.

I just updated my ROM from DXHH1 to I900DXHJ1/DZHJ1. I did the "Software Version" fix you mention above from Philippine to Singapore with the default Network. Here's a couple things that I've notice so far since last nite.

* Main Memory: Storage is 88.66MB in Total, 42.88MB In Use, 45.78MB Free. I remember having at least 76MB Free of memory at any given time with the Old ROM. Program is 96.70MB in Total, 39.84MB In Use and 56.86 Free. Again, I use to have around 65-70MB Free with the old ROM.

* I can't seems to Install MicroSoft NETCFSetupv35.msi on to the phone any more. Every time I run it, it will try to install into my phone and come back with the message saying "it install Unsuccessfully"

* The phone seens to respond a bit slower. May be it's just me.

I'm not sure if this New ROM has fix the battery problem that I have with the old ROM yet, will try it out and let you know.

If I decided to go with another New ROM, which will you recommand? Should I stay with the DX ROM? I saw you have DTHJ5 ROM here, is it newer and better than this DZHJ1 that I just got?

I'm from Indonesia, last week i just flash my Omnia from DXHJ1/DXHJ1 to Custom ROM DTHJ6/MCRO2. But the Custom ROM many bugs and i flash again with DTHJ9/MCRO3. And Now my ROM are :

PDA : i900DTHJ9/MCRO3

Phone : 1900XXHJ1

This ROM are Great with more memory space, but my battery just for 2 day with normaly use and I can't syncronize use BT connection.

I want to go back to ROM DXHJ1/DXHJ1, but I got "Incorrect Software Version".

I had try to change preconfiguration country to Singapore, but fail, still "Incorrect Software Version", I try again to change to Indonesia, but I still fail.

Can you help me to change my ROM go back to DXHJ1???

Paul, this is my 1st time on this forum and i am wanting some advice even though i have read through most of these listings and found them very helpfull. I have the chance to purchase an Omnia but this phone is on the Vodafone network, how easy is it to change the software on the phone so i can use the phone on my Orange Network. I am wanting to disable the Vodafone logo's and features, and be able to use the Orange features etc or would it be best to use Generic Software.

I have read the reviews and tips on this phone and i now can't wait for another 6 months for my upgrade, infact im Giddy!!!!!!!!! :(

if you want to flash back to use the Samsung firmware , DZ version

i tried flash with this : http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-r...7595/i900dzhl2/ and change the registry key to DZHJ2 and i was able to make use of the latest DZHK3

i am so happy it have been so long to use the original firmware

Hi evribody i updated my phone with the DTHJ5 but itt dident completed the instalation fully and now each time I start my phone i first get a lithe white phone icon and a varning sign in a little yelov triangle "!" whit this.... is that a problem? the phone works fine just that i dont understand the sign :| somone else gott this? please help THX

Same for me, I totally understand your frustration. Although I had a response to my earlier post I don't want to just get rid of the T-mobile branding but also upgrade to the latest firmware. It is very confusing and stressful trying to find a suitable firmware so if someone could please post the latest firmware version suitable for a UK user on a T-Mobile network I'd really appreciate it. Also if someone could clarify do all of these firmware’s work on all networks and in all countries?

I love my new Omnia but I would like to have improved performance and battery life aswell as whatever other improvements are brought by updating the firmware.

Once more I'm a UK user with a T-mobile branded Omnia on:

i don't understand why there is no "official" guide for reverting back to the original rom.

Example, on how to flash the LTE02 version to other ROM which is not based on DTHJx. Yes we use the ROM on our own RISK but please provide clear way on how to revert back to original ROM. Lat say i just want to try your ROM.

hi shadow you need to install samsung usb driver it is on this site but i've uploaded it for you here. Just download and install on your computer.

The reason you get the triangle is the phone part flashed because you were missing the usb driver for samsung. Install this driver first then redo the flash program and your phone will boot as normall withe succesful flash.

Hi all, new to the Board and hoping to get some knowledge...

I just got my Omnia:

Purchased from Hong Kong

Polish version I believe (box says www.samsungmobile.pl)

Using phone in New Zealand (Vodafone New Zealand)

Version:

PDA: i900DXHH3

PHONE: i900DXHH3

I've tried updating the firmware to no avail. I changed the phone to Singapore with Singtel (default op) but still nothing. I have tried Singapore and Phillipines/Indo versions..

Any ideas? Wanting to update as my current battery life is not so good.
