Guest MadSci Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 anyone know if this is possible to make the scroll wheel more sensitive when navigating through icons in windows mobile UI? I know the scroll wheel definitely has the resolution. A lot of the time the scroll wheel seems 'insensitive' due to the poor friction level on the surface of the wheel itself. On mine, this leads to it only actually turning during about 120 degrees when I use my thumb to turn it. I 'fixed' the problem by applying a high friction surface to the wheel itself - an egrips spot with the center punched out. Very simple, and effective, not to mention inexpensive. The performance difference is amazing! My original egrips surface finally wore out after about 6 months, and was easily removed and replaced. See the post here: http://www.modaco.com/content/samsung-i617...ed/#entry890839 for more info and discussion. Hope this helps! MadSci
Guest MI 99XPL Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 pk_volt, I followed what MadSci did with the egrips and love the wheel now. It made a HUGE improvement!
Guest pintocj Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 this is a feature that will be in windows mobile 6.1 .. join the bandwagon of users waiting for this 6 month old update to be available to download. I've been using the 6.1 for ages, since March 2008. I got it from (http://www.txcaesar.net/mobile/mobile/index.php). But the set up screens are all different. When Rogers finally upgrades the Jack to 6.1 hopefully someone can get all the settings for MMS.

UPDATE: After flashing successfully to WM6.1 I found that the 'Fast' setting for the wheel works great with the egrips disc in place. The added friction allows for both fast scrolling and accuracy when you just want to move it a little bit. Without the egrips dot, I found precision use of the wheel impossible when it was set on 'Fast'. Of course, I may just be a ham-handed clot ;) My $0.02 MadSci (buy egrips stock!)
