I have an admission to make - I recently knowingly accepted a HTC Diamond with the intention of using it until the iPhone 3G came out on PAYG. My deliberate intention at that point was to sell the Diamond on eBay and purchase an iPhone 3G. I plead guity m'lrd

I've been with WinMo for a long time now - since the Orange SPV (check my uber join date/number to the left :D ). I was kinda sick of the generally obstructively slow UI response, the rubbish web browsers, the clunky UI. Even with my set of standard tweaks (today agenda, HTC home amongst others), my phones (SPV, E200, C500, Vario II, Vario III, think there might have been something else in there too, can't remember now) were what I could only describe as 'nice but dim'.

Then I got the Diamond. Finally - they've made a decently quick, responsive, good looking very useable phone. My push email has worked flawlessly, my GPS works fine, the UI almost always responds to touch immediately. I had intended to use it for a few weeks (taking very good care of it, unusual for me!), then sell it as 'pretty much new'. No need now - this neat little device is, overall, on a par with the iPhone. It's got it's ups and downs, every device does. It's not QUITE as responsive, but it's close enough - especially since I can have proper sat nav, won't need to run iTunes etc..

All in all, well done HTC - my faith is restored. I think the only two WM phones that I felt good about that I've owned were the C500 and the original SPV. They were good for their time, the Diamond is good for now.
