Ways to trigger M2000 to dial last dialled number?

I was hoping one of you clever peeps might be able to tell me if this would work?...

I want to use my SPV M2000 to dial out to my phone if my garage door is opened while I am not around. So, I thought I might be able to do this fairly cheap and easy by replacing the button on the wired handsfree with this switch from maplin: Switch so that the M2000 will call the last dialled number when triggered.

One or two things I have considered...

1) I have lost the wired hands free so I am not sure if it would dial the last dialled number as a bluetooth headset would when the button is pressed, can anyone answer that one?

2) Is it only bluetooth headset with multi functional buttons this? is there any other way to trigger the phone to dial, that would be useful here?

Would this work this way or can anyone think of any other way to do this?
