MDA III Bootup problem

Hi,

I don't know if anyone can help me, but I'm having a real problem with my T-Mobile MDA III when I switch it on. It's been ok for the past few months and I've only had the odd minor crash now and then, but lately it takes between 2-7 bootups before it comes on. Once it's on it's fine but it's getting really annoying and I've changed any settings on it lately so I'm stumped.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Without knowing what you have installed and uninstalled etc the only suggestion would be to do a hard reset and reset the phone to its out of the box state.

Obviously this means you will have to reinstall your applications and resync your contactsm, just make sure you have backed up all your important data.

Ok, that sounds like the best plan.

Thanks!

It may also be worth checking on the Tmobile web site for any official ROM updates.

I will do, thanks. Also with the MicroSoft ActiveSync program, if I sync my contacts in Outlook then I hard reset will my contacts be restored if I sync again? I'm worried that it's a one way deal and if the MDA is clear then it'll clear my contacts saved on the PC. Please excuse my cluelessness, but I'm not too keen on trial and error in case I lose important contacts.

Cheers.

You can always make a backup of your Outlook data to play safe.

Once you have done the hard reset on reconnecting the device to the PC a new partnership should be created, You can then set it up as to how and what you would liked synced.

I always like to keep a backup of my outlook just incase the pc died etc but I have hard reset countless devices countless times without losing contact data.

Ok, I sync'd with Outlook and reset to factory defaults. Then my MDA seems to be working 100% again. I also checked on the T-Mobile site and see there's an upgrade to WM6 so I've done that too but on both counts, after reset and upgrade to WM6, my battery level indicator has vanished along with some program shortcuts on my main window such as rotate window, comms manager, file explorer & call register.

Can I bring them back or is there an addon that was downloaded before that got them on the screen?

Thanks.
