Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Maybe reading the manual would tell me this (like i'm gonna do THAT!), but does anyone know what the Start -> Settings -> System -> Power -> Power Save -> Enable power save mode option ACTUALLY does? P
Guest Fizz_daz Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 apart from making the phone hang when it's locked and tries to show a notification... nope... :D
Guest lastnikita Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 My guess: it's underclocking the cpu.
Guest wenzu Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 My guess: it's underclocking the cpu. Just wondering if we should check this option or not and if anyone has noticed a reduced performance when checked?
Guest Massive Attack Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 it says something about video performance and backlight and display degradation, nothing about clocking down the CPU
Guest Ingvarr Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) It also disables the all radio modules (including phone) when battery reaches 10% Also it starts limiting max auto-backlight brightness when battery goes into low values - lower it gets, less max brightness. And yes, it slows down CPU when battery becomes low. What do you think affects video performance? ;) Edited September 30, 2008 by Ingvarr

Guest Ingvarr Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 Didn't happen to me with HG firmware, haven't checked since. Maybe they've changed it.
Guest gavzter Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 (edited) That happens with power save mode off too! P Yup HG3 and HI1 that definitely happens. <_< I'm going to activate power save mode now and see if i notice anything. Gavin Edited October 2, 2008 by gavzter
