Guest Gemmac Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 (edited) Hi all has anyone installed this or thought about it? I'm wondering if it'll improve recorded playback. haven't had chance to watch the vid demo someone else posted on here, but my omnia and my flat mates have the same playback problem with videos we've recorded. Such awful sound, when people speak it's like they're speaking into a big foam microphone and are too close! maybe I'm picky as I've been spoiled with the N95 videos which are amazing. What do you all think? Would really appreciate some feedback. Do you think I need to change any settings? thanks everyone xGem :D Edited August 27, 2008 by Gemmac

Guest Gemmac Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Thanks Iz, it's a disappointment, but then it outdoes the N95 in other ways I guess. I'm just surprised no one else has noticed it.. I think it sounds terrible battery life a big issue for me now too though. mustn't grumble too much though :D it quicker decodes divx files and others i was told, but the playback from recording on the deivice wont change i wouldnt have thought. the n95 recorded at VGA 30fps, this is 15FPS...
Guest blackhorse Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 I only use coreplayer for the Youtube side of it
Guest unclesomebody Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Can you get coreplayer to work properly with the accelerometer and full screen modes? I've not been able to do it yet... which is annoying. I can get landscape full screen in coreplayer, but only when the device is held in portrait mode! It goes all funny when you turn the phone into landscape mode!
Guest gil71 Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 unclesomebody, I got the exactly same issue and it makes me crazy. I use HH1 Rom and CorePlayer 1.2.5. No chance to make this run in Landscape mode. Anybody?
Guest unclesomebody Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Technically, you can do it, but it's annoying. If you disable the accelerometer in the device so that it doesn't switch automatically between portrait and landscape, then open coreplayer, and set it to show fullscreen video in landscape mode. Then, when you double click on a video to full screen it, it will take up the whole landscape of the screen. THen you just need to turn your Omnia on it's side! This could be automated by adding coreplayer to some restriction list so that the accelerometer doesn't work within that program. I don't know how to do this, but it is definitely possible. The other option would be to have custom script that disabled the accelerometer each time you opened coreplayer, and then re-enabled it when you exited coreplayer. So, solutions are out there, you just have to think outside the box!
Guest gil71 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 I understand, same thing like with the Camera then I guess. Does anybody has a solution for this issue?
Guest cmloo Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Thats strange..i got it to work in full screen landscape mode and with accelerometer on. using this combination of HH1/HG4 PDA/Radio. I believe its something to do with the Tools/Preference/Video mode too. (btw..does anyone know whats the best Video output to use? DD, Intel or Raw?). After that when I went back to HG4/HG4.. I am facing the same orientation problem too. Apart from that, some of the movies just cant play smoothly unlike when I was at H1/G4 Will switch back to H1/G4 to confirm.
Guest cmloo Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Everybody.....wait....just as I was about to reformat the phone i remembered I had this installed on my previous ROM DivX Mobile Player Version 0.90 (29-Apr-2008) http://labs.divx.com/node/6211 So I quickly reinstalled this software and PRESTO....the Landscape mode was playing correctly and smoothly. So pls try out let me know if it solves your problem. It solved mine...
Guest gil71 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 cmloo, didn't worked out for me. I did install the DivX Player, as mentioned above, no changes. I deinstalled the Coreplayer, insalled again, soft reset etc. no changes at all. I also tried, I guess, every setting possibility and video mode config. Will further try and google to find a solution, at least I can watch the movies and youtube in Portrait Mode.
Guest unclesomebody Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 gil71. Did you read what I wrote above. You can get landscape mode video without a problem in coreplayer, you just need to disable the accelerometer and the configure coreplayer correctly.

Guest cdrk Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Hey, sorry for double posting..but I managed to install Coreplayer on my i900 and am able to play .mkv files (Music videos are often in .mkv) Works pretty good only the video/sound is pretty stuttering, does anyone know why and how this can happen? thanks in advance, (Trying to figure it out now too so I guessed if someone knows before I find it, saves some times yes?) :D
Guest cdrk Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 How about mms:// streams. Does it handle these? Does CorePlayer support MMS Streams? Solution No we will not add MMS streaming support, since Microsoft dropped MMS in favor of RTSP in 2003. (source: http://support.corecodec.com/index.php?_m=...kbarticleid=76)
