Guest satsuma Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I had a play with the 8GB Vodafone one in their Experience Store on Oxford Street. The screen did not give haptic feedback in any of the applications - including the messaging app QWERTY. The guys in store reckoned the Omnia did feature haptics but I didn't have time to search the settings. Is it something that can turned off/on in the settings? Does anyone with a VF version know if haptics is enabled in the VF ROM? I am sorely tempted to order one from VF tomorrow - I have to stick with VF, that's our corporate provider. Slight Noddy question, is Windows Messenger / MSN included as part of WinMob 6.1? :D Thanks in advance.
Guest CoolHotCold Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Windows messenger/ MSN is indeed included in WiMo And the haptic feedback was avaliable in older type ROMs and the current (G5 rom) which i belive is what comes pre-installed doesnt have the feedback. Look at the other threads reguarding H1 ROM version
Guest b088in Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 I have the VF version and I have haptic feedback on my Omia. Version - PDA : i900XXHH1/ACHH1 Version - PHONE : i900BUHG5
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 Interesting, the first report of shipping HH1? P
Guest Helix Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 So do you still keep haptics with the latest HH1 rom?
Guest DavidC Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 My VF handset should arrive on Monday. I'll let you know what ROM version it has as soon as I get it. I will be wanting to remove the VF branding and get the standard mapping software if possible. IS there an FAQ somewhere detailing how to do this?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 There is no standard mapping software really? P

Guest jason76 Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Hey jason76, Which store did you get your phone from? Direct from voda or another store? I'm looking into getting the omnia on voda, but I don't want a locked phone since I travel outside of the UK frequently. Thanks! I got mine Direct from vodafone free on £35 pm on a 12 month contract check thier website. mine came unlocked i was suprised because it has all the vodfone branding, i might have been just lucky. You could always get one and if its not unlocked use the 14 day return policy :D
Guest pmpants Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Hi guys my uk vodafone omnia arrived direct from vf on friday its: PDA: i900XXHH1/ACHH1 PHONE: i900BUHG5 Its got Haptic, but it has two issues, it freezes so the screen wont come back on if it's been asleep for a while (in my pocket) I can still dial out which is a worry, even tho I've locked the keypad before putting it in my pocket. Also the keypay/screen lock works fine unless I enter a pin code to lock the phone, if i enter a code when i press the bottom left button it just flickers and all the buttons remain active. Do you think any of th efirmware upgrades here might help? Cheers Paul
Guest nearly Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Same versions as listed above from Vodafone store 6 days ago. Haptic works for me.
Guest DavidC Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Mine's the same. It's branded but I'm using my T-Mobile sim at the moment with no problems.
Guest satsuma Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Well hopefully I will get mine from VF Business tomorrow. Heartening to see it's got newer f/w. Will put it through it's paces with Exchange Server etc tomorrow.
Guest zkyevolved Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 does anyone know where I could download ANY vodafone ROM?
