A Few Issues That Can Hopefully Be Solved

Hello

I'm brand new to the forum. I've had my Omnia for approximately a week now (unlocked) and I noticed a few things that hopefully you members can help me out on. First and foremost i've went through the forum the best I can to find my answers. Second of all my firmware version is HG4.

  1. The first issue I have is ringtones. I noticed when someone calls my ringtone volume plays at 50% volume then plays at 100% volume after a few seconds. I have my ring setting set to "ring" and not "increasing ring". If I go to "vibrate and ring" it does the same thing. Is there a way this can be fixed? I tried adjusting the volume levels using *#0002*28346# but I guess it doesn't apply.
  2. The second issue I have is bluetooth transfers. When I want to set a different path for bluetooth transfers "ie: My Storage" it still saves in My Documents on the partitioned part of the drive. How can I fix this so it can actually save in another place besides My Documents even though you set it in bluetooth settings? While we are on this topic, I notice bluetooth transfers automatically receive on the Omnia, even after setting a passcode in settings. How can we fix that? (EDIT: I think I had my beam settings to automatically receive so i'll see how that works now when that's off) And I had problems saving a file 10MB and larger sent via bluetooth. It would ask me to save and the file wouldn't be saved to my phone. I did have space available on the partitioned drive to accomdate the file size. So any help regarding those 3 bluetooth issues would help.
  3. Thirdly (but seems like I know the answer to this) Youtube playing seems to be a big issue with the Omnia. I've done all the instalation of flashplayer 1.4.4 and TCPMP 0.72 and still can't play desktop version of youtube without the screen fading to black, but I am still able to save the youtube video to my phone at full quality which isn't bad. Any info on this would be great.
This is all I can thing of for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I see version updates that may solve these problems but like a few people, i'm still reluctant to flash up to a newer version with the fear of breaking my phone! Edited by the_jaf

To the first issue, theres no work arround that i know of.. But the general concensus is that if you have it close to your head the quiet first ring will give you enough warning.

To the second isseue, i changed it to the My Storage and it works... and if i dont want to accept files i just turn off the BT... not much of a issue for me

And i've not played arround with the flash such as YouTube.. sorry

Thanks for your input. I guess the ring tones is just a feature of the phone. I'll play around more with the BT, it's just a minor issue for me.

The third issue can be solved by using coreplayer 1.2.5. It's got an inbuilt youtube client which is very good.

Yes I failed to note that I am using coreplayer for youtube. My issue is more with the ringtone starting of quiet, I hope there is a way that can be fixed so the ringtone can be played at the same volume.

Ok I so tried this again yesterday and still didn't work. Can I ask which setting are you changing this in? The only thing I can see where you can change where you want to save files is under Bluetooth>FTP, but that's for shared files only.

I did however go to my bluetooth ftp folder and take the file from my friend's phone and save it to where ever i like.

I also would like to know how to change my bluetooth transfer folder, every time someone sends me large file I have to move them manually and that's annoying

How do you look at youtube videos with CorePlayer? Should they open automatically when you click at the video (as it was with TCPMP with flash plugin)?

I've just bought the Omnia from T-Mobile UK and you tube worked straight out of the box using 'ArcSoft streaming Player v2.5.0.23 (Build:003).
