Hard rest: effect on app. unlock and other applications

My BJ2 suddenly froze today and would not reboot past the ATT logo.

I removed/re-inserted the battery many times but upon startup the phone would not reboot.

I hesitantly carried out the hard reset (power on and depress 'up'

navigation key simultaneously), and everything I had installed

(Google Maps, LEDalerts, and much more) was removed. The phone appears to have

gone back to factory settings. I had installed SDA Application Unlocker

as well but am usnure if the phone is again application locked.

Is it app. unlocked or locked after hard reset?

After the hard reset I reloaded the following apps. and they all work fine.

Google Maps (GPS works), Live Search (GPS works), LEDalerts, Total Commander, Viigo RSS Reader,

numerous themes from myblackjack2.com, TCPMP.

Would all of thse have worked if the phone was app. locked.

Comments? Thanks.

As I understand it, a Hard Reset goes back to the factory default settings for the Firmware, so if the orginal was App locked, which is controlled by the Firmware, then the reset phone will be App locked too.

I may be wrong about it though.

FYI, if you can find the cash, this is the kind of situation that makes a copy of Sprite Backup pay for itself. My BJII went nuts a few weeks ago with lots of flaky behaviour. <_< Nothing would fix it :D , so I Synched with Outlook, did a hard reset, launched an executable Sprite Backup files stored on my storage card that was a couple of weeks old (I have Sprite Backup run automatically once a week) and Voila! everything was back to normal, with all my Apps installed and configured! :D I just synced (had to set up a 'new' partnership, but that's no biggie) and my phone was perfect again.

Besides, if AT&T ever releases the WM6.1 update, Sprite's 'ROM Update' mode will allow you to avoid having to re-install everything yet again!
