Hi m3jimbo- welcome to MoDaCo :D

First things first! Before proceeding to change your ROM, you need to be aware that this techically voids your warranty. No concrete evidence that any operator has enforced this, but they do reserve the right to refuse to repair/replace phones without the original ROM, or an official update.

Now, to change the ROM there are a number of steps you have to take. First, you must install a program called HardSPL. This is a sort of BIOS tweak that prevents damage should a ROM flash not work properly. You then need to select which ROM to update to.

The Diamond is unusual in that it has a huge number of available 'cooked' ROMs so soon after release. This does indicate that it was a somewhat premature release and development has been swift. The cooked ROMs all use a variety of the most up to data OS Kernel and embedded programs.

The most stable, and most popular ROMs for British use seem to be the Dutty and TLR versions. I'm using Dutty V1.8 and it is very impressive, and is fast in operation.

You must read around the subject before acting- look Here in the XDA-Devs Diamond ROM section, and study the hints and tips about ROM flashng before deciding what to do :D
