Guest natalie1981_cutie Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 I was just wondering if the top and bottom toolbars on the homescreen can be removed or hidden? It ruins my wallpaper. :D I've recently upgraded to the H1 ROM and I don't know whether it's my imagination but my previous HG3 ROM seems to hide the top and bottom toolbar after some time. Then again, I've never really took much notice since I've instantly upgraded the ROM after purchase. :D Is there any registry hacks to do this? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Guest natalie1981_cutie Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 :D you can try apps such as wisbar desktop and other skinnable apps. But would I still be able to use Samsung's widget? Based on the screenshot of the wisbar, their today screen still has the top and bottom toolbar but with just a different look. I want to completely remove it.
Guest lastnikita Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 I want to completely remove it. You may want to try vj toggle today II alpha :D softkeys will still be visible when not on today screen though, but no more taskbar !
Guest natalie1981_cutie Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 You may want to try vj toggle today II alpha :D softkeys will still be visible when not on today screen though, but no more taskbar ! Thanks. Will try it out. Looks good though. :D
Guest Geronymous Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 You may want to try vj toggle today II alpha  softkeys will still be visible when not on today screen though, but no more taskbar ! Has anyone succeeded in removing the softkeys on the today screen only, for the Omnia? And if yes, can you please explain what are the exact settings to use? Because I googled at lot for this and found some instructions, but still it is not doing what I need (just get rid of the softkeys on the Today Screen, nothing more, nothing less). Thanks in advance!
Guest samjuan Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 You may want to try vj toggle today II alpha  softkeys will still be visible when not on today screen though, but no more taskbar ! you know that doesn't remove the taskbars, it as if just makes them black, if you press on the start menu location, it will actually open the start menu! Nice application though.
Guest mobilehappy Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 (edited) Get WAD2 and you can make your start page look and function in close to any way you like....which also includes with or without the bars. (You can not use the Samsung Widgets with WAD2 , but you can make your own widget interface if you like) Edited December 21, 2008 by mobilehappy

Guest mobilehappy Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 A quick test, WAD2 with Samsung Today 2
Guest bpivk Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 OR you can use google and find the nobar.cab file which disables softkeys.
Guest escobol Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 (edited) hmmm maybe there is any way to make taskbar transparent? Edited December 22, 2008 by escobol

Guest Geronymous Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 A quick test, WAD2 with Samsung Today 2 This one looks good indeed... but it would be a bit weird to buy and have WAD running for... not using it?
Guest Geronymous Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) OR you can use google and find the nobar.cab file which disables softkeys. I found nobar.cab on XDA forum. I installed it: it removes the softkeys alright, but it does not free up the space... the today screen remains as before, and instead of the softkey bar it shows the last background/keys it had (from another application)... So this does not really help... Any other ideas? Thanks in advance! Edited December 23, 2008 by Geronymous

Because i never experienced what you're describing and i have been using it on three different roms.
Guest Geronymous Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) Umm... I never had this problem. It just removed the bottom bar and that was it. Did you restart your phone? Because i never experienced what you're describing and i have been using it on three different roms. Well, what I did was install the program... 1st it told me it could not install it because of missing signed certficates or so. Then I tried again, and this time it did install it. No change in Today. Then I restarted, and it shows what I tried to describe: the buttons are gone, but there is still a "bar" at the bottom, which keeps the colors of the application that was using that space before... often it is this "lovely" brownish color the Omnia has in several applications... Either way, that space is NOT available for other Today Plugins like Calendar+... Will try restarting twice, but I am surprised it works for you... are you using it with the Omnia? Or could it be you have a different version of nobar.cab? Would you mind posting the file you are using? Appreciate your help! Having this sorted out would make my Omnia even better!
