Guest puiumeu Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 What is the best way to find if software will run when installed to external storage such as My Storage or Storage Card? Is there any difference between the internal 16GB and a removable card? Any advice appreciated.... Thanks in advance. Al.
Guest pidsw Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Try installing it to the storage you want to try, the run it. :D Actually I have found that most apps will install to My Storage. I had to move most of my stuff there as the current ROMS are bloated and I can't seem to delete the useless stuff in there. With an 8 Meg Storage Cache, it seems to run very well. I didn't really notice a difference when I moved everything to My Storage. I imagine that an SHDC card should be considerably slower, but I may be wrong.
Guest eduuuuu Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I need some advice on that too! Another question: Where should I install Spb Diary and Spb Weather? Can I put them in the storage card/my storage ... or do they have to be in the Device.?? If I install them or any other program in the storage card/my storage... Will My phone (i900) consume more battery? Since it has to access that type of media?? Will the programs run slower? or Not run in full mode? (since some features will not be loaded?) If there is anyone expert on those issues and could explain them better... please. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much. having done some benchmarks, My storage was a lot slower (according to the numbers) than my microSD card. However in real life it wasn't really noticable for applications etc...
Guest lastnikita Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 (edited) my storage is slower, will not be accessible (and thus, apps won't work) when in mass storage mode (if my storage is selected), and may have problems with apps that start at boot time. the same applies to the storage card (for mass storage mode problem, only if selected) Edited September 27, 2008 by lastnikita

So just selecting the mass storage mode is not an issue, right?
