WQVGA resolution

Hi,

My Omnia arrives tomorrow. Currently on a Sim only deal with o2 and have tried loads of phones recently but the Omnia may just make the grade.

The two main disadvantages (I say that lightly as to some it would be seen as that) is the WVGA screen and the poor visibility in daylight (is that linked the low resolution??).

The question is simple...Does it REALLY matter that the screen is not WVGA? Weren't all screens QVGA until recently anyhow?

Also, after reading all the flashing stories it looks like my Omnia (from Orange) wont need updating as someone 'in the know' said that Orange were shipping with HH1. Is this true? How do I locate what version is on my handset?

Its not as good as the iphone in DIRECT sunlight, but it works fine outside, and its not related to the resolution

And yes i would love it to have a higher pixel count, but i've used the HTC diamond too, and the screen is just too small to make effective use of it.

You can find the Version by clicking Main Menu --> Settings --> System ---> Version

I like the fact that the screen is slightly larger than the standard 2.8" on most phones last year.

I prefer the lower resolution, it is crisp enough, it requires less storage and it is faster than something like 800x480 (Xperia).

Am I right in saying that if my Omnia has XXHG5 it doesnt need updating? Getting confused but I'm reading it that XXHG5 is the version 5 Rom (which is also called HH1)...

Well almost, it DOES make images look better, and when taking photos for viewing its better, (plus more real estate on the screen)

Tried flashing but once I connect my Omnia the 'reset' pin remains greyed out even though my XP PC recognises the phone.
