Guest annubbiz Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Guys i have been trying to get some custom sounds to work as custom alerts on my Motorola Q9h and with no luck. I currently have WM 6.1 and have been trying by putting a copy of the .wav file in the MyRingtones and Windows folders. They do work as ring tones but not as alerts. Man I'm so tired of those tasteless alerts! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a copy of the file I have been usingsmb_1up.wav
Guest annubbiz Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Guys i have been trying to get some custom sounds to work as custom alerts on my Motorola Q9h and with no luck. I currently have WM 6.1 and have been trying by putting a copy of the .wav file in the MyRingtones and Windows folders. They do work as ring tones but not as alerts. Man I'm so tired of those tasteless alerts! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a copy of the file I have been using guys a found a way around it but it can be a pain. I went to "makeownringtone.com" and made an mp3 ringtone from the one I'd been trying to use. then, after editing the file a bit and selecting "download: to cellphone", I clicked on the "make ringtone" and sent the link to my own cell through gmail. I then followed the link from within my phone and downloaded the file (I had to rename the file since the default name is always "ringtone") and when prompted what to do with the file, I selected set as ring tone. and from then on that ringtone can be assigned as any alert. the problem is that this takes way too much time and any other mp3 file I put into the windows folder wont show up when wanting to select a new alert sound. Any idea of why this happens? or how to fix this? Thank you in advance.

I've been trying to get a specific mp3 or wav as my SMS alert on my Blackjack II with no luck. This did the trick in moments. Found the free download at http://www.airfagev.com/downloads1.asp?id=115
