Guest jmj 4 life Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Ok I'm really liking the new Windows Mobile 6.1, especially the threaded text messages and having names pop under as you insert it. I want to get my BJII customized as close to it was before the upgrade. 1. Is it possible to delete all the ATT links in the Start Menu? Total Commander didn't seem to work deleting things and even moving things to get them out of the way. 2. Does anyone else hate the sound volume on the BJII? SRS Surround Sound (thats as close to the name as I can remember) does not seem to work now either. I'd love to hear any other customizations anyone has. Thanks a bunch!

Guest krinkle442 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Something cool I've noticed is that you apparently don't need to do any "application unlocking" now in order to edit the registry/use certain programs/etc. Huzzah!
Guest jmj 4 life Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 1) Just delete them in the ActiveSync file explorer? 2) Mine's fine for me! OK I don't know if I'm just missing something, but I am still unable to delete things like ATT Mall, Cellular Video, ATT Music, Mobile Banking, MobiTV, My-Cast5 Weather, etc.... I cannot seem to find File Explorer in Windows Mobile Device Center, which is not ActiveSync. Thanks again for any help. I just hate having all these extra links when most of them are just demos.
Guest tamanaco Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Remapping the BJII's CV and AT&T keys is easier in WM 6.1 than it was in WM 6.0. But I have been unable to find or figure out how to remap the Press-Hold Home Key in WM 6.0 or 6.1. I want to remap the Press-Hold Home key to start CeleTask instead of Task Manager as I find CeleTask a bit more useful. I like the new new Sliding HomeScreen, but it does not allow one to use apps like Right Menu and Smartoolkit. I know it can be done because I have used XDA cooked ROMs in my Qtek 8310 that had CeleTask remapped to the Press-Hold Home Key. Anyone?
Guest Nottach Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 what are the keys for the cv and att keys. registry keys that is, as im assuming thats what you mean by your "remapping the cv and at&t keys is easier" comment. mucho gracias.

The remap the AT&T and CV keys all you have to do in 6.1 is to follow these steps 1st - Phone must be app unlocked 2nd Copy the MediaNet.lnk and CellularVideo.lnk files from the \Device\Windows folder to a folder in your PC via Activsync or WMDC 3rd Via command prompt you then change the atributes of these to files - Attrib +a -s -h -r filename.lnk 4th Now edit the files using notepad and modify it to execute the program of your choice. 5th Copy them back to the Device\Windows folder BTW, someone in another forum pointed me to the CHome Configuration for WM 6.1. A tool to modify the new Sliding HomeScreen in WM 6.1 - Still very raw, so use at your own risk.

Just go to www.myblackjack2.com and go to 'registry hacks' on the right hand side, there it explains how to change what the CV and ATT keys do, and where their reg keys are found.

The registry hack in myblackjack2.com only works for BJIIs with WM 6.0... NOT for BJIIs WM 6.1. With 6.1 is a simple shortcut file (.lnk) edit as I outlined obove. Ive copied the two shortcuts over via activesync but I'm unable to edit with notepad. It wont allow me to save my changes. I removed the read-only attribute by going into properties but Im still unable to save the changes.

Open a Command Prompt, Navigate (change directory) to the folder where the two .lnk files reside and enter the commands: attrib +a -s -h -r MediaNet.lnk attrib +a -s -h -r CellularVideo.lnk If you're unable to copy then back to the \Device\Windows folder using file explorer via WMDC because you're using Vista; get a hold of a copy of Total Commander to help you copy them back to the \Device\Windows folder once you transfer them to a temp folder in the phone.
