Guest chesterfield Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Does the phone chrge when plugged into USB? Last night I had the phone plugged into USB all evening, and the battery still drained rather quickly. Eventually giving warnings of low power. I am both concerned and slightly releived. After a night on the mains charger, the phone is now sat at 100% and hasnt budged at all today, despite some playing, internet activity and push email enabled since 8am, and in a poor signal area for the last couple of hours. I used the USB connection to give the phone what I thought was its first full charge - perhaps I was deceived. When the phone is connected via USB to my laptop, the phone gets quite warm, and the battery doesnt appear to charge. Anyone else suffering from starnge USB charging issues?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 It seems to charge best if it's in mass storage mode? P
Guest chesterfield Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Ill give it a try - but as well as letting me use activesync and usb mass storage, connecting to my laptop also seems to have the added bonus of turning my phone into a great little hand warmer - perfect for syncing on those cold winter mornings. :D

Guest pidsw Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 This is causing me some level of grief. Are any of the following invconvieniences related to something that I am doing wrong, or is this typical of Samsung devices? - When plugged into a vista machine, the batteries drain quite rapidly (far faster than normal). I have not tested on XP, but someone mentioned that if you install an Samsung active sync update it will charge. - If I put my device into mass storage mode, the device can no longer access My Storage. I put my email on there, so when it tries to sync, it hangs. - It never sleeps or shuts off the screen when connected to a computer. If I put it into standby it will wake up. My external power settings tell it to sleep after 5 mintes (which it ignores when connected to a computer but not when connected to a charger) - When plugged into a powered USB hub that has no host connection, it ignores it. HTC phones and Blackberries both charge in these situations. - If you turn off the phone and plug it into the computer, it does not charge. I have HH2 PDA HH3 Phone. Thanks,
