Guest LoveGod Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) I have seen many successes with updating to the OFICIAL DXHH1 firmware and i'm wondering if someone failed to do so. I'm making this poll so ppl who didn't flash yet can make a "risk assessment". :D Edited September 4, 2008 by LoveGod
Guest Princy Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 I thought the only DXHH1 update was an un-official one :D ?
Guest LoveGod Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 not anymore http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-pr...-update-leaked/
Guest chesterfield Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Is this "official" in the sense that should I flash my new orange phone with this and it go horribly wrong, I would be able to go back into the orange shop and get them to resolve the problem for me. Or is it official in the sense that it may be used in the service centres, but if I do it myself, then I risk stuffing myself for the cost of a new handset?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Well, I suppose you could *theoretically* take it back to O and demand they fix it... P
Guest chesterfield Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Well, I suppose you could *theoretically* take it back to O and demand they fix it... P After removing my post above of course :D Hmm - I think Ill leave it for now. Mine seems to be running fine without, the haptic on the keyboard would be a nice addition, but as it works with most other stuff Ill live without for a while I think.
Guest CoolHotCold Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Within the first 28 days you can return it to orange (Or if you have the insurance untill you cancel it) Using the excuse "I turned it on and all i got was this blank screen" is a excellent excuse. I get it all the time at my work
Guest efjay Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Just did the update on my Omnia with no issues. Keyboard feels miles better with the haptic feedback.
Guest 1Mack Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Updated with no issues :D . I have flashed the phone so many times now that I had all of my 3rd party apps and regestry tweaks done in a little over an hour :D . I am well pleased with the results and grateful for all the experience gaioned from being Modaco subsrciber  .
Guest cmloo Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Hi Paul, Updated mine successfully too but.......here are some feedback HH1 - Official (with HH1 Radio) Vs HH1 - Unofficial (with HG4 radio) 1) Batt life equal to Unofficial one with HG4 radio 2) The screen and apps response apprears a tad slower than Unofficial. Can also tell from the auto screen rotation that it does not rotate as smooth 3) First time trying to pair the Official ROM with my BT Headset came back with a BT Hardware error - soft reset solved it 4) No extra Today Widget as you had mentioned 5) Serious slowdown in EDGE connection vs the "Unofficial with HG4" - maybe the absorption rate for HH1 is not for this region
Guest Jlarsen Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 As mentioned in the previous post about the leaked rom, I did my update just fine. However, I feel that the new rom, in some areas, are a lot slower than my previous DXHG4. If I go to Start > Programs and browse through the programs, it sometimes can't keep up with the browsing and leaves me with a blank programs screen for a few secs, until it finally loads the icons. Regards Jimmi
Guest LoveGod Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) i've left mine overnight with 2 battery bars and in the morning battery was dead. anybody experience this? also this may be a dumb question: how do you find out your radio ver? Edited September 5, 2008 by LoveGod
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Radio version = Phone version in the Start -> Settings -> System -> Version applet. P
Guest LoveGod Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) ah got it:) thanks so Paul have you got battery drain issues with this fw? Edited September 5, 2008 by LoveGod
Guest blackhorse Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Well, I suppose you could *theoretically* take it back to O and demand they fix it... P Im watching for people like you!!!!!! :D
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Hard to say as yet, as I didn't really have major problems before. P
Guest fashi0nvictim854 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) I think there are still battery problems with this ROM because I was in Official G4 and i can see the differences ! I was at 100 % yesterday after having updated to H1 and 1 AFTERNOON and the end of the day + 1 NIGHT and it remains 40 % !! I just make some messages, at about 3-4 without data connections, gps and so on.. !! (sorry for my english I'm french) Edited September 5, 2008 by fashi0nvictim854
Guest LoveGod Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 ok so we still have battery problems. Any solutions?
Guest fashi0nvictim854 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) waiting for the Official "Official H1" :D there is nothing else to do cauz there is something wrong with our modified ROMs Or maybe H1 takes a lot of power but i don't think so.. Guest gavinfabl Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Upgraded successfully from XXHG5. However, I am having one issue with the Touch Player. Prior to the upgrade Album Art showed albeit very slow to scroll in landscape and the sound effects worked. Now with Touch Player I get no album art and no sound effects. WMP works fine and does show the album art. I used WMP on Vista to transfer the music. Am I meant to do something different? And is anyone else having issues?
Guest LoveGod Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) ok so this firmware defenetly has some problems with battery. I've putted it to charge since the battery was 0, and it was charged 90% but the indicator showed green. strange :D Edited September 5, 2008 by LoveGod
Guest efjay Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) For those having problems, did you hard reset before upgrading? I dont have any problems with Touch Player showing album are, battery so far is still showing 100% after an overnight charge and some EDGE usage for email and browsing. I do agree it feels a tad slower even after all my usual tweaks but just a smidge. Havent had any problems scrolling the Samsung programs list either. Edit: Paul and one other user have reported some odd behaviour when flashing the H1 rom after flashing the Hong Kong rom so its possible the rom flashing procedure is not properly overwriting the previous rom. Maybe this is related to the issues some are having. Edited September 5, 2008 by efjay
Guest LoveGod Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 yes. did a hard reset. however now, after a soft reset my battery showing correct values. i'll see how much this charge will hold
