Guest jigger13 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 ill apologise firstly so sorry.. please help.... am i right in thinking that in file eplorer under the sub menu my storage is the 8gig internal storage? and the sub menu labeld storage card is my additional memory card that i have put in ? and the device menu is the actual phones memory holding a total of 92.48 mb? the only reason i ask is that my phone keeps saying delete old or unused files as its critically low... i dont get this as if my statement above is correct then i always save to my storage were there should be plenty of sapce ,,,,,,,in the memory status icon it says under my storage i have 7563.81mb of memroy free and 547.05 mb of free space on my storage card. ive tried cutting and pasting data from the device to free it up but obviously some files cant be moved wich i understand as they were there when i bought the phone.. so when i download anything apps wise from the net directly to my phone i choose my storage! area but obviously im doing something wrong as now no matter what i do it keeps ssaying i will no longer receive any sms until i remove some files!?!!?!? what am i doing wrong... under settings and memory it does say storage free 0.00mb program free 53.70mb but the next tab that says storage card it tells me i have a ton of space.. please help anyone im obviously new but ive scoured the net trying to understand and find out what im doing wrong but no answers,, i though you seasoned wm peeps could help becasue im just lost... cheers ;)
Guest new2city Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Basically, as you have seen from the Settings->Memory your Omnia has 4 types of memory Storage Memory = for installing your programs(that's what you see in My Device when you are in File Explorer) Program Memory = I imagine this as equivalent to RAM in a PC My Storage = your built in memory of 8Gb Storage Card = the MicroSD card. If you understood what I wrote, (I hope you do) you should know what you need to do. Just don't move things in Program files and Windows, unless you are prepared for problems..
