For those who are interested, I was speaking to Brodit today. They make specialised car holders and I was enquiring about the i900 as I always use these holders for my car.

Anyway, Brodit can't source an i900 in Sweden so a UK distributor has kindly bought them one and sent it over. They have told me they will be available within 4 weeks time.

I did not know how long it would take, if ever, to get a model for the Omnia (I have had my Omnia for a little over a month now), so I purchased the Brodit holder for the iPhone (Proclip 870168) : 99% fit, holds just fine. I carved an opening on the side for the charging cable.

I can post a picture if anyone is interested.

Well, i'm very interested by brodit products, i had one for my n95 8gb and it was the best i found. It will be good to have your photos, for the moment i have a motorola support car who is good for the omnia but not has good as a brodit.

Thanks

I am liaising with DSLDevelopments, MoDaCo's preferred partner for Brodit, and as soon as the i900 holder is available we'll post here, and post pics / review!

I like the fuzzy finish on the iPhone one...

Looks like an A4 s-line with the textured aluminium trim in that pic above ;)

I used the one that came with the free bluetooth headset which was poor. I attached it to my dashboard and when I put the phone in which took herculean strength to part.....it lasted 5 seconds in which the phone holder slipped off the dashboard flinging my phone onto the floor via the steering wheel and scratching my screen ;)

Think will be patient like Paul!!

Well I'm using my Orbit 2 holder - it's not perfect but it will do until the official one is released.

Just so you know, Brodit normally release the holders in 3 flavours. Holder/Holder+Cig lighter/Holder+Molex for direct wiring. I can confirm that only one is defiante at the moment. Brodit say that the other two will be dependant on them coming up with a system to allow power to the phone.

I'm pretty sure they they can! Anyway, don't buy an iphone one - just be patient!

But what if you want to charge it? You have to have a dangly cable over your dash!

It's OK, the mount is sited directly above my cigarette lighter socket ;)

For once my POS car has a plus. On the dash there is a cubby with a pop up cover. When the pop up cover is open, there is a slot in the cubby which is the width of the omnia, and it leans back against the pop up cover and is held quite securely in place. ;)

same here....hope they can come up with something soon....those brodit holders look nice....would go for some tilt/swivel dashboard holder since I need to have my omnia in landscape mode for navigation

checked the DSLDevelopments site and they have the dashboard proclip mount for my car and ship worldwide at reasonable rates, so once they have them stock I am good to go...can't wait...hope they can supply a cigarette lighter charging cable too since I doubt they are gonna make an active holder due to that unfriendly samsung connector

I think the passive will come first but they are working on an active holder.

I'm hoping to Beta the holder for Brodit very soon...?
