i900XIHI1 (NEED TO TEST)

Hi,

Before uploading i900XIHH5_HH9 unbranded, I'd like to ask your guys a favor.

Can anyone of you try this file to confirm my idea? If it is true, then we will have a lot of language unbranded. (Like Germany, all newest firmware is branded, non-branded firmware was for Hardware REV 0.6)

I think that branded or not is depend on the CSC files, so these part will contains lastest XIHI1 from Samsung, which I see that phone part is XIHI2, I repeat, this is from Samsung XIHI1 file package, so it's normal, not a customized/cooked/dumped/etc... one.

Unrar will give you bootimage, phone HI2, pda HI1, and CSC from HH5-HH9.

Please use grandfix to flash, thanks to Paul who provided a guide.

Did you guys have grandfix for XP and Vista? If not, i'll upload tonight.

Anyone please try and report here phone is fully working or not, it is branded or non-branded?

PS: To avoid confusion, I'd like to add more infors:

- Language is Italian.

- This is internal Dev rom from samsung (not sure they will release to public or not).

- This is not an EXE file.

EXE file is for public, can be download as www.samsung.com (lately)

nb0 , bin, img is for service center.

Upgraded my sample - it looks totally unbranded:

PDA i900XIHI1/XIHH9

PHONE i900XXHI2

Now I understand that the last part of the PDA sw string refers to the csc file ;)

Opening the csc file with an editor, I can see that it modifies some registry keys, including installed programs - need to get more csc files to examine them..

Some questions:

- Do you want us not to install the .csc file? As this is the branding?

- Why are you asking other people to do this? It seems odd that you would not want to test it yourself..?

- I don't speak Italien, will I be able to downgrade?

- The phone in the image is -XXHI2, not XIHI2 (typeo?)

- Do you have GrandPrix 1.8+ for Vista? I have 1.5.2 for vista and it doesn't recognize my phone properly. 1.8+ for XP worked on an XP machine at work but it is not easily accessible.

- I assume that we select BootImage_* as the "loader"?

- The pda file in Pauls images ends in .nb0 while this one ends in .bin. I assume that this is okay?

The last two are trivial, but I GrandPrix has a reputation for bricking phones if you put parts in the wrong places

Yes, the language is in the core, I think - csc is too small.

Yes, I think - you can do not select it from the file list in the downloaded - at that point, I don't knwo if it keep the previous one or not.

I'm now testing deeply the new IT ROM, I would like to wait before doing other experiments.. ;)

It's not that I don't wanna flash/kill my phone as other people think. I don't have phone with me, I'm testing i8510 (Symbian) at the moment.

Moreover, if dead by csc, we can easily fix by flash another complete firmware. I did mention in my other post that I used to flash an XX to DX without csc and phone hang at logo, didn't I?

I still don't understand why in PDA it write XIHI1/XIHH9 ? I'll upload AIHI1 csc (come in same part of XIHI1 from Samsung) then we test agian.
