Guest neilrlsmith Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) Hi - any answers? 1) When using the telephone keypad, only after the call is active a mesage appears that says "Press the action key to unlock the keypad" and the only way to make it go away is to press the action key. During a call this is very annoying because if you want to enter tones during a call you keep getting interupted with this message display. My question is this, is there a way to deactivate this feature someware in the settings of the phone or software? 2) Google maps puts me a mile away from my location. That's fine if I know where I am but otherwise useless. I select menu then 'use GPS' but it just says "seeking GPS satellites (0)" and nothing else (ever!) 3) Anyone found out a workaround to stop hitting send in the middle of typing!!!! Thanks. Thanks. 1) I read in another thread that this is not possible, even though I think I once came accross an option somewhere... but cannot find it back ;) 2) The "mile away" is based on the cell towers, not the GPS. When you choose "use GPS" and see 0 satellites, your Omnia is obviously not able to get a GPS fix. Try outside, or check the GPS settings in Google Maps, or use "Enhanced GPS"... so far everyone was able to get a fix in Google Maps as far as I know...

I know for a fact that there is a closer VF tower though... Have enabled Enhanced - still no joy. As for GPS settings in Google Maps, have found it and its set to "set by windows" I am not techie enough to know how/if to change it.

Now it just stays at Initialising GPS then after a bit goes to NO GPS reciever was found. Make sure that you have a GPS reciever....yada yada yada.

Do you have it checked or unchecked. I just stood outside in the road like a numpty with my phone held high! The blue flashing light move once then back again. But no sign of any satellites. I read on a VF forum somewhere that it can take up to 20 minutes....?!?

Guest Unisoldrew Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 3) Anyone found out a workaround to stop hitting send in the middle of typing!!!! Thanks. Hi. This was happening to me regularly, however the targetting of keys seems MUCH more accurate with HH1 and the problem seems to now be sorted. My main issues now are: - Hyperlinks not working in Opera - Can't get a single video to play - Can't find a tv-out cable

My main issues now are: - Hyperlinks not working in Opera - Can't get a single video to play - Can't find a tv-out cable Glad it's ok for you. I ahve a VF Omnia which comes preinstalled with HH1. I'm hitting the Send button all the time and have normal fingers!
Guest indyjones Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I am having the same issue with my omnia, starting to think something is seriously wrong first I can not get the wifi to work well, now I can not get the GPS to find any satalites either in google maps or Tomtom. neilrlsmith Give "sms-chat" a go it moves the send button to a more missable location ;)
Guest Unisoldrew Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Give "sms-chat" a go it moves the send button to a more missable location ;) Hmmm, that's an idea. Does it work well on the Omnia? Better than the pre-installed system?
Guest indyjones Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Hmmm, that's an idea. Does it work well on the Omnia? Better than the pre-installed system? Yes it works nicely plus there is a demo version so give it a go and see what you think ;)
