Guest Fuzzman1 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Hi everyone I have had my i900 for a couple of weeks now and so far I am really happy with it. I havent been brave enough to update the ROM yet (waiting for more positive feedback) but have increased the volume which worked perfectly. The only thing that is a little annoying is the incredible length of the headphone cable. I know that the cable doubles up as the aerial but this makes utilising the i900 as an everyday MP3 player a little awkward. I was wondering if anyone had purchased one of the headphone adaptors that are springing up on some websites. If so, how do they affect the quality/volume of the playback. Are they a cheap alternative or should I stay well clear of them? ;) Thanks in advance. Stuart
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 The bottom one looks quite slick, I like the fact the shipped one has a mic built in for calls etc tho... P
Guest mj_blue Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Hi Fuzzman, I used my old herald and now the omnia as my main Mp3 player, I would suggest making using of the A2DP and going wireless. I picked up a pair of Motorola S9 stereo headphones cheap and they are pretty good, its difficult to go back to wires once you've tried it tho... I have also upgraded the Car stereo to one that supports A2DP so it can be used in there as well when it's in its mount.. works a dream. If you trawl around you can pick the Moto S9's up for less than £20, Battery life is very good on them too, lat my longer than my omnia at present ;) Mark

All i can say is......... a great purchase!!! The little connection is compact, well put together and is a good tight fit into the Samsung connector. The thing I was most worried about was the final sound quality and volume when using the adaptor. Im happy to say that it is even better than the standard Samsung connection. For the price it cost me it is excellent and now i dont have to wrap the headphone cable round my waist to utilise the Omina as an Mp3 player. 10 out of 10

Guest Fuzzman1 Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 So which of the the two pictured above did you buy and happy with? Sorry thought i had made it clear. I bought the compact box connection at the top of the post and got it from Ebay. Came from Hong Kong in about 5 days.
Guest Geronymous Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Received the 3.5mm headphone adaptor with built in radio receiver a couple of days ago. What do you mean by "with built in radio receiver"? That you don't loose the antenna functionality of your headset if you use this plug, or do you mean something else? Any links to the product?
Guest FutureDirt Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 those little adapters look cool... i use a sony bluetooth stereo headset though (HBH-DS220)... i dont get to listen to fm radio using a bluetooth headset but i dont listen to the radio anyway so i am more then happy!
Guest Fuzzman1 Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I meant that i get full radio reception with the adaptor plugged in as you would with the standard Samsung connection but the cable isnt a mile long. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...52BSI%26otn%3D4 Hope this helps.

Guest nimdy Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Still cannot find an adaptor that has headphones and power - like you can get for the HTC's. This would be useful as i could listen to music all day when at my desk and not loose power. I suppose the answer is to get cheap bluetooth headphones and have the phone charging.

Guest lufeig Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 i also got two adaptors (the compact one, on top). first one was stolen, but i liked it so much that i bought another one. both from ebay.
Guest lutharigno Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 The i910 came with an adaptor that can do both. do they have a part # listed for that? I would love to see if it works on i900 (910 battery powers phone but wont charge! :) ).
