Guest EdZz Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Hi Everyone, I bought my Samsung Omnia over the weekend, and i love it, except for a niggle of an issue, which to me is a vital function and a mighty function that i've lost.. =( I'm having trouble with regards to the vibrating function. In short it does not vibrate either on incoming call (voice of video) or SMS. I have checked the following settings Settings -> sounds and notifications section -> Notifcation Tab Event: Incoming Call Ring type: Vibrate and ring Ring tone: Samsung Tune If i click on play, the mobile does not vibrate. It simply rings with the "Samsung Tune" Settings -> Vibration -> Call alert Rhythmic vibration: Rhythmic vibration 2 If i click on the play button under this section, the mobile vibrates fine which indicates that the phone's vibrating function is not broken. Further testing the mobile, the profile option on the widget on the today screen, i have set that to vibrate but that also does not cause the mobile to vibrate Original Firmware: DXHG4 - This issue is present, and 'never' vibrated in coming call/sms Updated Firmware: DXHH3 - Issue is still present.. =( I updated to DXHH3 and switched it to Australia mode (with Hard Reset). It was originally set to Malaysia, which works......... But when i changed it to Australia, it stopped working again... *sobs sobs* Thanks anyone in advance Please help.. =(
Guest EdZz Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Bump anyone help me at all.. still got the problem.. =(
Guest pidsw Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 This is a total long shot, but you may want to try setting the ring script manually. When you set it via notifications it looks something like this: apv0w3r (which means wakeup, ring, vibrate for 0 seconds, wait for three seconds, repeat) I set mine as follows: av2pr (wakeup, vibrate for two seconds, ring, repeat) My vibration works presently on DXHH3. Note that whenever you enter the notifications menu, it will reset you phone script. I save a .reg file in my storage which I run after editing - or accidently pressing the button for - the notifications settings. You can set it manually via sktools, advancedconfig or any registry editor. Hope that helps.
Guest Tosker Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) You can set it manually via sktools, advancedconfig or any registry editor. Hope that helps. I am having the same problem, could you tell me what registry keys I need to change. Thanx.. Edited September 24, 2008 by Tosker
