Guest FatBloke23 Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Hi folks, Having had my MDA Compact IV for almost a whole week, I've been playing with the various text entry options. I like the full Diamond QWERTY, and the 20-key version looks...interesting...but I find that, whatever I try, I'm way way faster with my stylus on the standard WinMo QWERTY keyboard. Probably because I've been using my Artemis that way for the last two years. Anyway, I can't get the WinMo keyboard to show me suggestions -- when I tap away using the stylus, I don't get any words appearing above the keyboard. This was fine on the Artemis, and I've selected the options on the Diamond ("Suggest words when entering text" for standard input, and "Word Completion in ABC mode" in the Touch Input Settings)...but nothing. Any ideas? Anyone see the same thing happening with theirs? Would installing an old WinMo QWERTY keyboard CAB work with the Diamond's display? Help!
Guest rameses Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 When you have specified to 'suggest words when entering text' have you set it to a number of letters or a space? It works ok for me on whatever keyboard is selected

It works ok for me on whatever keyboard is selected I've tried it set to space (default), two letters (the way I had it on the Artemis) and one letter. Just played around with various other combunations of settings...nothing. I'm running the SwiftBL 6.0 ROM, BTW.
Guest rameses Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 I've still got the shipped ROM on my Diamond - so it might be something that's been missed out of the ROM your using.
