Guest Top_Cat Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) Hi there been reading over all the info on the new DXHH3 firmware over the last couple of days and was just wondering if its possible to directly update from my XXHG5 phone and pda to DXHH3 phone and pda. My phone is an unbranded i900 on orange from phones4u. Im downloading the DXHH3 firmware at the minute from the link in ROM download links on main page. Also would apreciate any instructions/ tools needed to update. Thanks in advance Richard Edited September 13, 2008 by Top_Cat
Guest Top_Cat Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 146 reads and not one reply??? Surely someone out there can help me with this.....
Guest Unisoldrew Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 I haven't gone to HH3 yet but i'm sure after reading various posts that it DOES update PDA and PHONE. Don't quote me on that though. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Thanks in advance Richard Hi, Yes it is possible, I have orange which is running HH3 & to be honest prior to upgrading I had tons of probs, orange customer services are great though so far i've had 4x omnia replacments. All they really need to do is get the rom updates, HH3 is working fine, think the battery life should be better though.
Guest neowl Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 I'm wondering this myself, as I'm running a XXHG5/MSHG1 PDA with the XXHG5 phone ROM, also, which would be the better ROM update to use with this version?
Guest Top_Cat Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) Ok well i've decided to take the plunge and go for it. Just gonna install active sync 4.5 and modem driver on xp pc now while omnia charges up currently at 70% Wish me luck ;) Edit: Well that was quick and painless Phone now showing DXHH3 Phone and PDA :( Thanks again for the advice ptrbee. Now just gotta reinstall TT7 and SPB Shell Edited September 13, 2008 by Top_Cat

Guest MBA140 Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Top_Cat - Did you have any problems activating TomTom such as the device code changing?
Guest Top_Cat Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) Top_Cat - Did you have any problems activating TomTom such as the device code changing? Nope i just left all the TT7 stuff on "my storage" then after update installed the .cab file again and it auto picked up on the maps folder and even all my previously saved settings. Havn't tried out the safety camera stuff will probably only use Tomtom on foot although i am really liking Google Maps when you tell it to use gps ;) TT7 does seem to find it difficult to get a descent signal though. I have a copy of iGO8 though and am kean to give it a try after reading about other peoples success with it on the Omnia. Regarding anything new since update: Well my phone doesn't seem to want to show 100% charge. I started charging it at 70% charge around two hours ago and is still showing 90% although the LED/Power Button is Green which on the old firmware meant fully charged. I'll leave it over night and report back. Another thing i noticed before i Hard Reset the phone was extremely sluggishness scrolling through menu's for example the samsung programs menu very slow but then remembered Paul saying how important it is to hard reset after update and all is now well. Guest 1Mack Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 This is my formula for flashing my phone taken from various post 1 Back up contacts and SMS. 2 Hard Reset. 3 Flash Phone Twice 4 Hard Reset. 5 Put it all back together and have some fun ;)
Guest Unisoldrew Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 I flashed to HH3 last night (following all the usual instructions) but froze when it started on the PHONE part - so i had to soft reset. So still stuck at PHONE XXHG5 - which is same as when i went to HH1. Does anyone have any ideas why this keeps happening? Maybe i should try flashing on my pc at work to see if that works?
