i mate SPL forgot screensaver password or the unlock password

hello guy, i am having a IMATE SPL. i've been using this phone since 6 months.

and suddenly my friend installed some features on it. THEN he ACTIVATE the phone to always ASK a password

or the screensaver password or should i say the unlock password.

THe problem is that he forgot the password he input. so im stuck on guesting word...

my question is is there any way to reset that password?

HOW?

There is no way to get around the missing password without doing a hard reset- this will obviously wipe all the data from the device.

If it is a SIM lock which is in force, then enetring the password incorrectly 3 times will lock it, and you will need a PUK code from your SIM provider to unlock it.

Its not a problem with the SIM. because i tried to change the sim and the settings of the phone is still the same. ALWAYS ASKING for password whenever the idle time reach, screen saver password will appear and you have to input the correct password or else no chance to operate the phone.

Anymore Idea?

There's nothing else you can do- remember this is a security feature; if there was a work around it would no longer be secure ;)

Your only option is to do a full factory reset by presing the * key + Right Soft Key + Power Key together. This WILL lose all your installed data, SMS, Contacts etc, but without remembering the password, its your only option.

i did the last option pressing the * key, arrow right key and the power all together then suddenly it reboot. BUT it seems that the full factory reset doesnt take effect because it is still asking about the password.

Is there anyway other shortcut keys on how to fully reset the settings, and ask for new configuration or reinstall the backup image of the imate spl?

i did the last option pressing the * key, arrow right key and the power all together.....

You need to be pressing the * key, the right SOFTKEY (not arrow right) and Power together. The Right Softkey is the key at the very base of the right side of the screen, with 3 dots on it.

If that doesn't work, then someone with more knowledge of this particular device will need tro assist ;)
