Guest Kris Rennison Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Hi all, and great forum you guys have here ;) Its been very useful to me since getting my i900 Omnia Anyway, a brain teaser: I have updated my firmare to DXHH3 and all is well - apart from my GPRS connection randomly starts itself for no reason It's particulary frustrating as I dont want to run up a huge GPRS bill as il lock my phone, put it in my pocket, take it out two hours later and its been on GPRS for an hour and a half :S Anyone have any ideas? Is it just due to the DXHH3? has anyone else had this issue? Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work guys  Kris
Guest L.P Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Yea ;) Checked this morning and the GPRS had been on 9 hours... Totally agree better to be safe though, Just hoping data is billed on downloaded content compared to connection time.. Which im sure it is?
Guest Kris Rennison Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 yeah you're right, but still - if its been connected for that long, lord alone knows what its been downloading From a few searches ive found tht if you disable automatic time update it will stop the random connections.. im gonna give tht a shot, and failing that i'm going to go for that program thanks a lot for your help ;)
Guest Geronymous Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 If you have XTRA (Enhanced GPS) with automated updates, it will always try to open/reopen a GPRS connection. Obviously push email or scheduled email syncs do the same.
Guest blackhorse Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 If you install SPB GPRS data monitor you will see, that this all day connection uses no more than 0.05MB
