Life in the Fast Lane

We all may grumble about the functionality of the SPV but at the end of the day We Orange and Microsoft are all embarking on a new adventure. It has it's problems and issues but compare the price to the cost of a PDA or compare it to any other phone out at the moment.

The organization on Oranges part is not good we know but I don't think they quite new what they where unleashing!!! :?:

At the end of the day you have to admit if Orange and Microsoft decided to

recall all of the SPV's you wouldn't be happy even with a refund or Nokia

replacement.

Waking up with the phone or not as the case may be has become an adventure. The capability and customisation of the phone has us all hooked or why would we all be on this newsgroup.

Unlocking the Phone is the nearest most of us will get to 'Hacking' anything

and don't tell me the buzz for beating Orange and Microsoft by installing

free software developed by Us against the Corporate Giants plans didn't feel good!!! 8)

Anyway the point is does any one else in the pub on a Friday night have a

phone that can out do yours!!!! ;)

Cheers

Frosty

Ps. Who's ready for part two 'The Release of the Update"

Well no but then again when people phone them they can answer the calls rather than get an error message. Not much of a problem in the pub but when you are trying to run a bussiness and clients cant get hold of you it doesnt look too professional......

Orange made a big deal of this phone being a productivity increasing device on their business section of their site. Well they are right. I get far less phone calls bothering me now!

What I am trying to say is that I wouldnt mine a phone with bugs in software as long as it was perfect in its functionality as a phone.

Good point

Sorry if I seem a bit dismisive of the 'real world' side of the phone but even though I'm on my 3rd phone I haven't had any real functional problems with the it. Plus after working and programming with Microsoft products with my own business for the last 7 years. This has given me the experiance to know that you should never touch them in business until at least the first servce pack and even then make sure some one else has tested it first!!

ohh boy, do I know that feeling,

we were lucky with that sql2k virus, we sp3'd our sql2k servers about 4 weeks ago, that would have been 100 knackered sql servers across the uk if we hadn't

Agreed but I needed a phone that I could connect to the internet with from my laptop and then I was told it had a usb cable and could be used as a usb modem.

Infra red on the train is a bit of a nightmare! Havent got enough money or arse to have two phones.

I have to contradict myself a little though. Playing Zelda on the phone does make up for its bad sides!

Still I couldnt go back now - has anyone tried looking at a normal nokia phone screen now - it seems sooo poor now.

Im just worried that someone I know will get a p800, then my phone (arguably) might not be the most impressive around.

... ok, Its fairly unlikely that the p800 will get around as much to be honest, considering its price - almost £300 on contract! (http://www.expansys.com/) My SPV was free!

- oh and jtsaint - have you looked at getting one of those USB sync and charge cables? could be the thing you are looking for (although it might drain your laptop's battery slighly)

Fear not, good fellow.

The SPV is better than having a P800 housebrick to carry around, and looks so much better also ;)
