Guest 3shirts Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Hi all, I was just wondering if there is a way to make the wallpaper rotate when the screen does. At the moment it stays portrait and tiles which looks a bit crappy.
Guest phillipxenxciel Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 only way is to use a wallpaper that looks good in both portrait and landscape , or u can use spbshell, which actually use different wallpaper in portrait and landscape
Guest 3shirts Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I am using SPB Shell, where is the option to do that? Thanks
Guest andrewkeith5 Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 i find the best way to sort out the frankly rubbish orientation problem with wallpapers is to use a square image that doesn't matter if it gets squished or, you could download one of the windows mobile 6 theme creation programs which allow you to set different images for portrait and landscape

Guest SwagR Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 That sounds good, do you have a link? I found that if u apply the wallpaper via the "theme" setting it works fine but through any other option it doesn't. Try changing your wallpaper in the theme setting
Guest 3shirts Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 I found that if u apply the wallpaper via the "theme" setting it works fine but through any other option it doesn't. Try changing your wallpaper in the theme setting Hi, I tried that but sadly it's the same. Still tiles the portrait image instead of rotating it.
Guest aliba Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Hi all, I was just wondering if there is a way to make the wallpaper rotate when the screen does. At the moment it stays portrait and tiles which looks a bit crappy. A tricky solution: Prepare 2 sets of wallpapers in 240x400 and 400x200 respectively. Run Resco Photo Viewer. Assign a 240x400 wallpaper when the program is running in portrait mode (ie. Action > Save > Run as Home Screen). Rotate the phone getting into landscape mode. Assign another 400x240 wallpaper as Home Screen. Done! Go back to Today screen and you will see diff wallpapers when the phone is rotated. ;)
Guest lastnikita Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 will it work once photo viewer is uninstalled ? then, it could just be a registry trick.
Guest Bad-Co Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I use a plain white wallpaper now...
Guest brlknmz Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 The problem occurs when you use "Set as" > "Today Background" option in any picture viewing program, but not if you use the "Theme Maker" program under settings. It works even if you change the theme in "Today" under settings. The only problem I have with it is that you can't select which part of the picture you want to be shown when in landscape and portrait, but it's not a big deal.
Guest Michael122w Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 I always create my backgrounds as 400x400 jpgs (though I think 348x40 works) and them set them via the Settings > Today > "Use this picture as the background". It always works in both landscape and portrait

Guest merlot Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Maybe that could help you all. I found that thread at my favorite German Omnia forum. I haven't tried it yet but a few guys reported that it'll work.

Guest bmn4711 Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 The omnia doesn't accept a huge variety of custom wallpapers does it...? All the pictures i uploaded onto the omnia had to be cut. btw, if you rotate it and change the background, its different to portrait?

All the pictures i uploaded onto the omnia had to be cut. btw, if you rotate it and change the background, its different to portrait? Have you read the thread I've linked above? I think you did't. I've tried it since my last post and it's working perfectly. The resolution for your Omnia has to be 240x400px for portrait and 400x240px for landscape. Please read the thread (here I've translated it into English).
Guest bmn4711 Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) Edit: Is there anyway to move the picture? Mine is a bit cut off one side and it has added to the other side Edited January 15, 2009 by bmn4711
