GPS can use the battery in a few hours, as for feeling numb it's probably the heat build up this sort of device gets when using GPS/Wifi etc.

That's the fun of having everything on one device.

Just getting to grips with my Vodafone Omnia after just over a week.

Tomtom No, iGo yes, but iGo did a weird thing today that despite have a very good 3-5 satellite lock placed me at random parts of the country 100s of miles apart.

But boy can the battery drain. Went from fully charged to switching itself off with less than 2 hours gps use.

Haven't got a car charger yet as Voda didn't see fit to provide one. What one do I need, I'll get one at the weekend.

How come the Samsung can quote 500hours standby by when I'm lucky to get 3 days with bluetooth, and wifi off but gps on but mainly unused. Also, howcome all the techspecs list a 1400ma/h battery, but I have a 1000ma/h battery supplied. That is 1/4 of the capacity less than quoted by the makers. And it is a standard Samsung battery.

should be a 1440.

goto the dial screen dial *#0228# that will tell you what batt is installed, if it's a 1000 i'd get it replaced with the correct one

Yeah, it says 1440mA

I'm sure looking at the battery itself it said 1000mA but can't find it now.

Good to know I have the right one though. Wonder if it will be possible to get a high capacity battery inside that slim case.

why do you say GPS stay ON ?

it should only be active when a GPS program starts it, and return off as soon as that program quits.
