So has anyone found a way to get YouTube and other Flash sites on the Omnia?

I know there's a FlashLite 3.1 floating around that's supposed to work on the latest Opera build, but I read it doesn't work on the Omnia since FlashLite2.1 comes with our ROMs.

Yet, I don't see any trace of any version of FlashLite on my phone. Has anyone tried it? The Streaming Player is utterly rubbish.

Since I didn't get much from here, I did some of my own research.

There is CorePlayer which has a dedicated YouTube client in the latest version. But it's $30 to buy and I never actually got it to play anything. The search works even showing me thumbnails, but no video. Maybe others can try it out and see if they have any luck.

The only working solution I found is a program from xda-devs called YouTubePlay. Even though it's in beta stage, I found it horribly ugly... but if you can get past that it works. But even the icon looks jaggedy and ugly in your Start menu. And it doesn't seem to like QVGA as the videos are really tiny in landscape mode.

Sigh... why is there no development for the i900 while they do so much for HTC's? Like all these accelerometer games that work only on the Diamond.

Can you explain how coreplayer works with youtube? do you need to open the videos from within coreplayer, or do they open from within IE or Opera?

that is why i was trying other programs to open youtube.. quality is way lower on the mobile version..

Guys, are you seriously complaining about the quality? It's better than not getting any YouTube at all on the Omnia.

CorePlayer has a dedicated YouTube client as I said, so everything works from within the program itself... or it's supposed to, it just keeps loading for me even on my WiFi connection.

I figured out why YouTube videos weren't loading for me in CorePlayer.

You can actually go into settings and change the volume between low (mobile), medium and high. The default low wasn't working for some reason, but the other two work beautifully. So those of you complaining about low quality change the settings, but you probably want to make sure you had unlimited data. ;)

But the settings are hard to get to. Go into settings, tap pages and go to network. I don't get why in the heck they didn't organize them into tabs. Only downside is you can't login to your YT account to view favourites and playlists, still better than nothing though (i.e. Streaming Player).

I installed flashlite 3.1 and operamobile 9.5 build 2392 QVGA_flash_wwe.cab on my storagecard and made soft reset. Then I checked with spezzo.com,video.google.com,and aajkatv.com,found ok.checked with youtube, found not working.some flash sites will work.before install opera you should delete the opera folder in my device>app data>opera9.

I used Resco Explorer and i found that flashlite is included also in \windows\ in device (also in Application Data) in device.

Anyway im trying to delete those files to check the new flashlite 3.1 but it just doesnt let me also when i connect to USB and trying from the Windows Vista.

I guess there are used by the system.

Files are flashlite.dll , flashlitesplash.swf , flashsnddec.dll.

So please help if anyone knows how can i force delete them and i will post my results if i can really install flashlite 3.1.
