On the high street

I currently have an S710 and really like this phone. It does everything I need and the QWERTY keyboard is a must,

I was holding out for the Xperia but it is looking quite big and very expensive at £600. But then I spotted the new S740 which is out soon so as this is the natural upgrade to my S710, I have been waiting for that. It looks nice and compact at only 43mm wide (my S710 is 51mm) although it is longer and not much thinner.

But today in a meeting I had to open up a PDF and of course the limitation of the screen size hit me.

So I have been thinking again and again the Touch Pro becomes an option. Looking at the specs, it is 1mm wider than my S710 and 1mm longer and even a little thinner but a little heavier. But I would really like to handle one so is there anywhere on the highstreet with these yet? I know Vodafone business are pushing them but do they have them in stores?

Thanks

looking around on the internet no network appears to have the Touch Pro as a listed item.

Sould not be long though as they are available SIM free from other resellers.

Vodafone Business have the Touch Pro now, and a colleague has had one for 2 days.

So, hopefully already in Voda Business retail centres, and not long till in mainstream shops ;)

Last weekend, my local PC World had one on display. It was the first time I'd handled one. Give yours a try. They might have one too.

PCW in Peterborough didn't have a Pro but did have a Diamond on display so I was able to get an idea.

One thing I did notice was that even though it is only 1mm bigger than the S710, because the S710 has sloped sides, the Touch does feel a lot bigger.

I now have my own to play with (yes I gave in and bought one) and am VERY happy with what I have.

I was this close to getting the S740 until a saw a true to life photo of the S740 and S710 (what I currently have) side by side. At that point I realised that the S740 was huge (length wise) compared to what I had and the Touch pro which also meant that the Xperia was going to be huge (but at lease that has a larger screen to justify it).

So the touch pro is smaller and £100 less than the Xperia and is smaller and about £130 more than the S740.

Sold

So now I have to get used to using a touch screen again.
