Guest Ingvarr Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Can anybody recommend one, if bought one recently. I am thinking about this one - http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-46099...sfer+Cable.html , maybe any other choices?
Guest pdauser92 Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 (edited) Can anybody recommend one, if bought one recently. I am thinking about this one - http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-46099...sfer+Cable.html , maybe any other choices? I bought one from Amazon recently. It works perfectly, and also charges straight from the mains using the 3-pin mains adapter thats included. The kit also includes a car charger, although I haven't had a chance to test it yet. The whole set cost £4.99. The URL is http://www.amazon.co.uk/EASYi-RETRACTABLE-...4533&sr=8-1 ;) Edited September 20, 2008 by pdauser92
Guest Ingvarr Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Isn't this one is a charge only? I need one that will allow data transfer too.
Guest DaZelator Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 BoxWave's MiniSync cable can do charging (on USB charger) OR syncing/charging (on computer). The one for the Samsung i780 should fit: http://www.boxwave.com/products/minisync/m...g-i780_3078.htm (picture attached below). Cheers, DaZelator.
Guest chokia Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 I think we need something like this
Guest Geronymous Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 I think we need something like this nice photoshopping! ;) but you need the female connector for the 3.5mm plug!
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Why does the first one have 2 connectors exactly? P
Guest Ingvarr Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) Its because i780 will not charge the device from "ordinary" USB unless it senses ActiveSync connection, therefore you needed different connector "for charge only". I am not sure if its same with Omnia latest firmwares. Edited September 22, 2008 by Ingvarr
Guest omnia newbie Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 The first one comes up the idea similar to Geronymous........rather... a 'break through box' with TV output, audio output, USB charger/sync with adapter, to either cigarrette lighter/wall charger.......... hi hi.. may be too much to ask.. ?
Guest Ingvarr Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 I think I will go with this one - http://www.gomadic.com/samsung-omnia-retra...-usb-cable.html Its the most compact, and most importanly, uses replaceable tip. So no need to buy a diff cable for diff device, only snap in the new tip inplace.
Guest Ben VDV Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 In fact, there is no need for additional cables. The original sync cable will charge the Omnia when you change your usb settings on the device. Change it to storage device instead of ActiveSync and it will charge.

Guest finaldestiny Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Don't work for me Then you're not doing something right. Works fine for me. Always has.
Guest Jokes On You Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 does anyone here know where I can get a real tv out cable for the omnia?

By "charging" do you mean that the charging light eventually turns green signaling a full charge ? On which ROM version are you on ? TIA, Florian
