have you had any problem with signal with yours?

I have to keep my phone in my back pocket or top coat pocket to get skip free playback. I am not sure why this is, just when the phone is in my trouser pocket (front) it sometimes skips.

I am quite big and tall so i have just put it down to that!

I had a problem with this when I used to use it with my Z8 when I was walking the dog in the park. (the instructions say that you may get reduced performance in open spaces) but I haven't had problems with my Herald or the Omnia. I also had this with a pair of MOTO 820 headphones so I think it is a bluetooth issue rather than specific to the S9's

The other bluetooth ones that have a dongle on a lanyard are just closer to the phone whereas the distance to head is a bot further :)i

funny you should say that, it only happens when in open spaces

Motorola S9 is the greatest IMHO. No wires at all.

I wish they didn't delay S9 HD though ;)

Jabra bt320s are very cheap at the moment... give 7 hours of battery life and you can plug your own headphones in

I third that.. The best so far after a week's survey to get the for my beautiful omnia.. Samsung ones are too big and not good ratings.. Nokia is bulky.. Motorola S9 gives excellent quality and battery life..

i own one and it sounds crap, plus i have to find a music software with preamp cause a full volume is not that loud.

Just ordered the HBH-DS205, Released soon in the UK available on Ebay for £48 Delivered.

Improvements over 200 and 220 mainly seem to be battery life "up to" 8 hours.

i dont see the point of the wired ones - i want wireless after all!!

my motorola s9 is awesome (and tiny). but i dont find them very comfortabel for more than an hour or so (maybe i have a big head?)

Yeah know what you mean, Dont like single headset or design of S9 and similiar although i do agree id like a totally wireless solution. Nice to be able to change the headphones

I'm one for the sony ericsson hbh-ds range, I've got the 200's with sennheiser cx500's and the sound quality is really good up to about 20 feet away. Would be nice without wires but the unit is small enough to not notice it when wearing it.

What headset are you trying to sync it with?

Shame you can't use the S9s with the FM radio (as the antenna is in the headphone wire)...

Here, here. Surely there must be a way for Samsung to have incorporated an ariel into the handset, manufacturers seem to manage to squeeze them into those two or three pound pocket radios!!!

Sony Ericsson 200's because I already have the Shure SE530 and wanted something with 3.5mm jack.

I don't know any phone with FM radio that works without external aerial. All of them require headphones connected.

I don't know of any phone's that sell for two or three pounds with or without an ariel. I was talking about the cheap little handheld radio's that you can buy, like this sort of thing

This radio alone weights and occupies almost as most as phone without radio. Of course they have a space for a relatively big antenna here.

But where do you expect smartphone hardware to be fitted (without making it twice as heavy & bulky)? ;)

Would it not be feasible to utilize the case of the the Omnia either with the current metal used for the bezel or a metal more receptive to radio wave reception as an antenna?

Umm, no, because you don't need just any lump of metal. You need lump of metal of specific shape and size ;)

And anyway, for tiny low power FM chip used in smartphones you really need relatively long antenna to achieve acceptable reception.
