Change Buttons on At&t Default screen

hey guys in new to the BJ II and already LOVE IT already unlocked and added lots of hacks and mods,, my question is how do you change the top buttons on the AT&T Default home screen to static buttons?

and also can i get rid of the express mail?

or would it be better to just make my own home screen layout and would i be able to make static buttons?

That's what I wound up doing. It's pretty quick and painless to modify home screens.
