Guest Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 I understand for GPRS on a Mobile via Bluetooth/USB I need to use *99# as the Dial-up number. * What is the 3G equivalent or is it also *99#? * Will the Mobile use 3G first then GPRS automatically? Thanks
Guest Confucious Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 *99# is the data connection code - if you have 3G / HSDPA it will use that.
Guest Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Thanks. So it just means "use data connection", got it. I searched on Google but found nothing conclusive.
Guest Confucious Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 A friend of mine was working for Ericsson when they were testing GPRS for Vodafone many years ago. One of the guys he was working with wanted to test the system so set it to use *99# so he could use it to test - that was all the code was ever meant to be for but it seems to have become a worldwide standard to make a data connection!
