Anyone bricked in the SECOND rom update?

is there any cases of people bricking in the second, third, not-first upgrade?

I mean the insoluble monahans or something like that, something that's not our fault.

If I upgraded once and that was OK it means that my cellphone is not among the "bad batch" or that doesnt mean nothing?

Surf the web and the threads here and I think you'll find a few stories of bricks on the 2nd or 3rd flash, as well as multiple stories of flash-crazy daredevils who've flashed 20+ times without issue.

Point is, sure, surviving the first flash is a good indication that your phone isn't in itself prone to bricking in a flash, but that's definitely no guarantee. To put it simply, sh*t happens. It could be a matter of data corruption in the flash file you use. It could be a poor USB connection. It could be that you forgot to turn off your virus protection on the PC before flashing. Any number of things can go wrong.

So far I've been spared the nightmare after having flashed from DXHG4 to DXHH1 PDA, then again to DXHH3 full package, then Grand prix to flash radio to XXHG5 (did this twice for kicks-n-giggles), then another .exe full flash to DXHI1. Everytime I flash, I get the sh*ts, things go well and I try and ignore the bugs and think "this is it - at least until they come out with WM7 or a totally new and improved camera, or...etc. etc. etc."

Point is. No guarantees. If you can't live without it, do it. If you can, at least for a while, hold off and see what others say about the ROM you're thinking about, maybe HJ5 will be better when it arrives and you've avoided multiple flashes in between. If, in spite of others' reports of major PITAs with the ROM you've got now, you're basically pretty happy, don't bother. Risk vs utility.

Nice post! ;)

Thanks for the answer.

Today I upgraded for the second time, HI1 now.

I totally agree with "Risk vs utility" and unfortunately with "sh*t happens" hehe

See you.
