Guest isomaniac Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 I recently bought a Omnia. But I think the photo quality is a bit bad because almost all photos taken are a bit "over exposed". I used auto settings for all photo. While the preview of photo is perfect on screen, after the shutter was pressed, the photo displayed on screen is always over exposed with the brightness above normal. This makes the photos "too" bright and not clear. Anyone else have the same problem?

Guest GTDave Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Yep, hideously over-exposed, and not paricularly sharp. My 3mp Vario II took better photos. ;)
Guest IZIIZI Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 its much better in the latest rom upgrade DXHI1: type *#2470#* to start the upgrade and leave phone on for 5 mineuts after typing it.
Guest Princy Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 I find the photos a little fuzzy and out of focus. The camera is nowhere near as good as my fist edition Nokia N95 I found the anti-shake setting helped with the fuzziness and selecting the right scene mode helps a hell of a lot (indoor, night etc..), not ideal when your try to capture a good picture in a hurry though, I agree, the auto settings seemed to be much better with the N95 but that's probably down to the carl zeiss lens.

I downloaded the lastest ROM the other week. So would you have to type *#2470#* during the process of the upgrade or could I do it just now? Also what effect does it have regarding the camera on the phone?

Once the upgrade has completed you then type the *#2470#*, this upgrades the camera firmware to the version included in the rom which I think is 1.09.
Guest fenomeno83 Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 user sharpening +2 and brightness -1
Guest bobobird Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 user sharpening +2 and brightness -1 Thanks, but where is the brightness setting ? I am only able to adjust contrast, saturation and sharpness

Checked at registry
Guest moldowan Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Quote from http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=917608 : Just ignore this cam registry value. It has no relation to actual camera module firmware, its the version of OS-side driver that interacts with camera module.
Guest blackhorse Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 How do you find what camera version is running?
Guest lastnikita Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 try to turn the WDR setting ON
