Acer Aspire One Fan Noise - Activate Speedswitch?

My Acer Aspire One suffers from pretty bad fan noise - a really high pitched whine, which is almost constant. This is not unknown for the Acer, apparently. The Atom processor is meant to support Speedswitch. Anyone know if there is any software which will allow me to manually force the switch?

This looks like the ticket http://www.diefer.de/speedswitchxp/ but not sure if it works with the Atom?

It supports automatic switching, but not manual (AFAIK). I want to be able to throttle back the processor when I am connected to mains when I am in a studio to try and reduce the fan noise.

try aspirectrl i think that is what it is. its like the one for the eee pc but tis for the acer i hope this helps.

For XP and Vista - it at least lets you control the fan speed.
