Guest jaipo Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Omnia i900 white 16Gb version is now DXHH3/DZHH3 radio is DXHH3 previous was DGHG4. Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1 Problem is when syncronised to receive push setup goes fine then exchange sets new security setting including a pin number (although the policy is set not to) downloads all the mail , appointments and works fine, it says needs a restart and at that point when it reboots it just sits at the Onmia screen giving two beeps occassionally, nothing makes any difference, power light is on but no response to anything. Only way back is hard reset.. format. tried it numerous times and with both Rom versions. phone is unbranded, not locked with an Orange Sim. Exchange Policy works flawlwessly with my N95 8GB Thoughts? J

Guest Geronymous Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Do you have a pin unlock number set? J Yes, that is part of our Exchange policy...
Guest jimbouk Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Have you already set a pin number locally? If so, turn that off and then set it up.

Guest MaxSound Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Have the same prob, after accepting Exchange Policies the device needs a reboot and then its "bricked" - you only can see the Omnia logo and hear some beep codes. No input is possible and you need a hard reset and reinstalling of all apps ... Tried it several times but always the same effect. Maybe the solution can be tracked down with CeRegEditor, if you compare the registry changes immediately before and after accepting the policies. I deleted some keys but obviously not the right ones ;) But at least one thing i found out: you can permanently disable storage encryption (even if the policy forces it) - just go into the registry to HKLM - System - StorageManager - Filters - ENCFilt and change the Key "PolicyDLL" to a dummy text (e. g. devpol.bak) After the next soft reset the encryption dll can“t be loaded and files will be stored normaly. My Omnia-Versions: PDA: i900XGHG5/BHHG6 Telephone: i900XXHG3 Max
Guest MaxSound Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 (edited) Update: Upgraded my Omnia (unbranded and free 8 GB) to firmware "i900XCHG5", same effect :D - beep-"dead" after reboot, had to hardreset. The prob. seems to be the "device encryption" (not storage encryption!), forced by the exchange policies and not properly supported by the Omnia. Btw: N95 (and the complete N-Series) ignores exchange policies  , only the E-Series accepts them. Edited October 20, 2008 by MaxSound
