Settings Problem(Control Panel.exe)

I have this problem so frequently now.

I first experienced it when I change the firmware from G3 to H3 (from Philipppines by the way). I installed spb mobile shell and several other apps and after a day of use, the settings menu are gone and also have that controlpanel.exe error. I tried to install the firmware again and still have that problem. So I decided not to install the mobile shell but just a simple clock alarm application. After just several mintues, settings are gone once again. So I thought the H3 itself was the problem, so I decided to use H1 firmware. Use the mobile shell once again, and the following day, settings menu are gone, and have that annoying error .exe. So I decided no to use mobile shell, install H1 again(since I don't know how to do hard reset before). And then last night, my setting are gone once again. I just installed the alarm apps.

I don't know what was the problem, and I'm about to give up. I don't wanna do hard reset each and every day. I never had this problem during G3 firmware.

Please help!

I had the same problem. This was related to installation of icontact. It tries to add an icon in the settings and corrupts the controlpanel.

I hard reset and reinstalled all else and used only a shrtcut to my old icontact installation on my storage. All fine now.

Wait a minute. I installed icontact too. Two apps were only installed during testing period, Galarm and icontact. All problems occured after installation of icontact. I never thoight of that! For two days now, my phone is ok now 'coz I haven/t installed anything. So maybe that's the reason why it is causing this problem. So it's not the firmware afterall. So I think I need to go back to HH3.

OT: Any way I can backup my messages? or save it in memory card so whenever I got to do hard reset, my messages are saved?
