WM 6.1 lagged texting when typing in a threaded text message?

Upgraded my BJII to 6.1 a few weeks back and I love it. But the only problem that I have found with it is the delay when typing a THREADED text message. I can type pretty fast on my phone. So fast that in fact not all the keys register when I'm typing a text message and its very lagged. This is a big problem for me because I'm constantly finding myself having to go back and correct unintended words. But whenever I send a text message the old-school WM 6.0 way (select contact, right soft key, send text message), the typing speed is normal and all my keys register. Does anybody else have this problem with threaded texts? How can I make the typing not be so lagged?

I see this issue too. It goes away when you delete all old SMS and it will be speedy again
