Guest EddieMx Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Is there any way to identify which application is initiating a data session? From time to time, my Omnia connects by itself to a data session, and I don't know which application it is. I have checked all the applications that connect to the Internet and I have disabled the automatic connection mode. So if a data session is started, is there any way to identify the source application?

I have checked all the applications that connect to the Internet and I have disabled the automatic connection mode. So if a data session is started, is there any way to identify the source application? those can be - Email (auto download) - XTRA GPS (auto download enabled) - Google Map - and other 3rd party software. My suggestion is, search for Modaco NoData and install it, then use the program to disable WAP and Internet ;) rather than scratching your head finding the source. just enable MMS will do because that connection is required when receiving picture messaging.
Guest lastnikita Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 that's only fine if you don't want to connect at all, not if you just want to avoid automatic connections. I don't know yet a network/packet analyzer for pocket pc... anyone ?
Guest Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Could it be trying to download an MMS message? I noticed mine doing this when I had no MMS settings - it would connect to 3G every so often and only stopped when I set up MMS correctly and downloaded the message.
