Guest petec500 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Hi all, Seriously considering getting a Diamond to replace my Touch, but I watched an american review of this device on YouTube and i gather from this that the Diamond doesn't work on the common bands used in North America. Is this true? Although i'm currently in the UK, I'm hoping to move to Canada soon, so i dont want to end up with a phone that has really bad coverage due to being incompatible with the common frequencies/bands over there. Thanks

Thanks The original Diamond models were Tri-Band so HTC released 2 versions to cover the whole spectrum of frequencies, and marketed the appropriate one in each locale. As i understand it, the Radio ROMs from 1.00.25.05 onwards are fully Quad band, to should work anywhere that uses the GSM network. They won't, however work on CDMA networks.
