MP3's as Ringtones??

Hello everyone,

I got my Omnia on Tuesday and have been really impressed so far!!

Can any tell me if its possible to have MP3's as ringtones? Do they have to be stored in the phones memory etc?

Put your Mp3 file in My Device/My Documents/My Ringones and enjoy!

Or make a new My Documents folder on My Storage and put them there ;)

Ok Im stupid but...If I copy my MP3 to the "My Ringtones" directory how do I then set it as a ringtone?

If I right click I don't get and option nor do I if i select Menu.

use the built in file explore and navigate to the ringtones location, touch and hold the ringtone to see extended menu, select set as ringtone , cheers

Im in the File Explorer and I click and hold the file, a menu apears with teh options of "Cut,Copy,Renam,Delete,Send...,Beam File..." that's all.

should be just under "beam file".... ;) , i just tried it..........

go to settings-sound and notifications-notifications and set the main ringtone there, or if you go to contacts you can set individual contact ringtones

Yes, but they will only show up in the drop down list if they are on the root.

hmm, what do u mean by onli MP3 show up in the drop down list if they are on the root?

i cant set MP3 as SMS alert on my omnia even i had store those MP3 on My documents>My ringtone

can you help me to solve it? thanks !

What I mean by root is not in a folder, but directly on the media or you could put them in my documents but not in any folder in my documents

THANKS CORE, finally i can set MP3 as SMS alert. thanks alot.

and now do u know how can i change sms consavertion to Normal SMS inbox ?

Above method does work and MP3 can be both seen as selections on all pull down. I have a problem on the SMS because the unit wont stop playing the mp3. I tried dismissing the notification and still the mp3 kept on playing. If another sms comes in , it will also play the mp3 (means 2 tunes at the same time). I always had to restart the unit. I have PDA: I900DXHJ1/DXHJ1 and PHONE: I900DXHJ1 device versions. Any ideas how to fix this?

Dude,make a new My Documents folder on My Storage and than make a new My Ringtones folder on My Documents folder ,and you can choose any mp3 as your ringtong in My Storage.

Hey guys I have the same problem, but with another one. I can't find "My Documents" or "My Device" on my Omnia 7, I can't copy any MP3 anywhere, when I hold a song I get : Add to now playing, pin to start and delete. That's it, no copy, no move nothing. Can anyone help me plz ?
